The maize mill manufacturing process

Controlling the process of collecting, drying and storing maize is essential to delivering top hygiene standards and consistency in the finished products: meal, grits and corn flour.

That’s why the maize collected by LACADÉE is dealt with immediately after harvesting it. Once picked, it is stored in ventilated silos. Every batch of maize is dried within 48 hours of the harvest, making it easier to control optimal sanitary quality (mycotoxins).

Corn is dried slowly and at low temperature, which facilitates its break-up into several parts. Maize kernels are transformed into cornmeal, grits and corn flour in a mechanical process.
