Corn processing, our business

At Lacadée Agro-Industrie, the maize processing start well before the milling. The grain is collected in the southwest, as close as possible to the maize basin, then followed at each stage to the finished product.

This continuity between supply, drying, storage and first processing gives your purchases a clear framework: identified origin, batches followed, regular controls and conventional GM-free corn.

The Cornerie de Mont, built in 1999 in the immediate vicinity of the silos, extends a family history engaged in corn since 1936. This facilitates the chain between grain reception, storage and industrial processing of corn.

Our Corn Manufacturing and Processing Process

Reception, cleaning and sorting of maize

Upon arrival on site, grain corn undergoes several stages of preparation in order to ensure a regular raw material prior to its passage into a maize plant:

1. Control of maize at receipt the grain is first checked upon arrival at the site.

2. Mechanical cleaning : impurities are removed in order to obtain a clean material and to form homogeneous batches.

3. Sorting and sizing : maize is prepared to have a more regular material base before processing.

4. Controlled drying this step helps control the moisture of the grain and preserve its characteristics.

5. Controlled storage : maize is kept under conditions that maintain cleanliness and proper preservation of the lots before they are moved to a maize plant.

6. Preparation for processing the grain can then move to the dehulling, fraction separation, milling and sifting stages.

This rigour from the time of preparation of the corn helps to obtain a stable milling, constant behavior in extrusion and controlled incorporation into the recipes. Humidity, cleanliness and good preservation of lots have a direct impact on the regularity sought by buyers, quality managers and production teams.

Separation of fractions, milling and industrial adaptation

The first grain processing based on a mechanical separation of the different fractions of corn:

  • Almond,
  • Germ,
  • Envelopes

This stage prepares the manufacture of flours, meal, gritz and co-products without the addition of additive. Milling and sieving then adjust the particle size according to the application.

Depending on your specifications, the team will study the expected parameters:

  • Granulometry,
  • Batch regularity,
  • Product characteristics
  • Method of conditioning.

Somoulette, gritz, flour and germs derived from the processing of maize

Maize flours and meal for the agri-food industry

Corn flours are obtained by mechanical processing of grain, with particular attention to fineness, stability and repeatability of batches. They find their place in many formulations: biscuits, bread making, cereal products, technical preparation or animal nutrition.

Corn meal meets the constraints of manufacturers who work on texture, hydration or cooking behavior. They are sought after in snacks, breakfast cereals and certain extrusion processes. If your formulation requires precise particle size, an upstream technical exchange saves time at the time of material validation.

Corn gritz and valued co-products

Corn gritz is used in applications where the product's consistency counts as much as its origin. Brewery, technical ingredients and specific process require a monitored, stable and documented product.

Co-products from the maize plant, such as some milling or germ, are also valued in animal feed and other industrial outlets. This logic is part of a full use of grain.

From harvest to processing: traceability, quality control and safety

Material controls and food security

Each lot is identified as soon as it is collected and followed during drying, storage and industrial processing of corn. Controls shall include:

  • Mycotoxin tests
  • Fats
  • Moisture,
  • The particle size

This organisation is part of a structured food security logic, with checkpoints throughout the process. For your teams, it makes it easy to read the supplier file, prepare an audit and verify the documentary requirements of your market.

Regularity of lots and monitoring of your specifications

Beyond health control, the issue is also the product consistency. A flour, meal or gritz that is too variable quickly disturbs a customer process.

Pour éviter cela, nous suivons la régularité des lots avec méthode :

  • Identification,
  • Background,
  • Production parameters
  • Associated documents on request

If you are working on a sensitive application in food or animal nutrition, the team can study with you the points to monitor in the specifications.

Industrial applications: your supply in France and export

  • As well as with feed and pet food stakeholders.

More than 50% of products are exported, with a presence in several markets such as Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, the United Kingdom or South Korea.

A first exchange to frame your volumes and specifications

Do you need flour, meal, gritz or corn co-products? Indicate your application, annual volume, desired size, type of packaging and country of delivery. The team can then come back to you with a useful discussion base.

Understanding all about corn processing

Looking for a supplier of corn processing products? Find answers to the main questions about our products, their specifications, the quality and supply of your sites in France and abroad.

Can you adapt the particle size to our industrial process?

Part of the parameters studied depends on your application. When considering your need, our teams take into account the desired size, the expected characteristics of the product, the regularity of the batches and the method of packaging. This approach allows you to identify the flour, meal or gritz best suited to the constraints of your process.

Lacadée Agro-Industrie produces different fractions from the mechanical processing of maize: flour, meal, gritz, germs and co-products. The outlets vary according to their characteristics and size: snacking, breakfast cereals, brewing, biscuits, bread making, pet food or animal feed.

Corn is followed from reception to processing. Lots are identified and different parameters are checked, including moisture, particle size, fat and mycotoxins. Tracking history and production parameters also allows you to control the regularity of products intended for your industrial processes.

Yes. Our teams can study your need according to the intended application of the required particle size, the expected product characteristics and the desired packaging. For sensitive applications in food or animal nutrition, the different points to be monitored can be studied with your teams upstream.

Yes. Each batch is identified as soon as it is collected and followed during the different drying, storage and processing stages. The maize used is convention without GMOs and is subject to regular checks in order to meet the quality and food safety requirements of the markets for which our products are intended.

Yes. More than 50% of our products are exported. Lacadée Agro-Industrie provides customers in Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, the United Kingdom and South Korea. To study your supply, our teams take into account the desired product, your volumes, packaging and the country of delivery.
